On the 10th October, we celebrate World Mental Health Day (WMHD). Each year has a different theme. This year's theme is 'access to services - mental health in catastrophes and emergencies'.
The WMHD campaign aims to focus on the mental health impact of repeated exposure to news coverage of crises and conflicts.
- The campaign
Set by the World Federation of Mental Health, the theme highlights the importance of people being able to protect their mental health in times of global instability.

- Self help resources
Developed with the World Health Organisation, an illustrated guide, called “Doing What Matters in Times of Stress”, provides an approach to managing threats to wellbeing.
The guide aims to equip people with practical skills to help cope with stress. A few minutes each day are enough to practice the self-help techniques.
The guide can be used alone or with the accompanying audio exercises (provided in various languages).
